Welcome to Lever Up. You can expect a recap of recent LBOs and other stories from the trenches.
A bit about me and this project
Welcome to Lever Up, where I plan to walk through recent leveraged buyouts and corporate M&A deals. Will try to sprinkle some juicy stories from my time as an associate in the trenches, along with other corporate drama I find amusing.
If a deal you worked on happens to be in the spotlight, or you have some scoop that you’d like to share, I encourage you to shoot me a note!
The newsletter is free, but if you enjoy what you read I ask that you share it with your friends.
About me
[Former?] private equity associate, currently taking a two-year vacation (read: business school). The name of this site is mostly a mordant homage to my current financial situation, but also neatly ties into the subject matter of this newsletter. Prior experience includes massaging the numbers, adding color, taking 10,000 foot views (that’s several views, 10,000ft each; not ten thousand 1ft views), diving into the details, focusing on core competencies, expanding capabilities, spreading comps, holding the pen, not (but actually yes) recreating the wheel, having too many balls in the air, proactively engaging in proprietary sourcing, levering tf up, and just straight up adding value.
Influenced by the likes of Alex Clayton, Matt Levine, EquityPrivate, and Epicurean Dealmaker, who have all worked tremendously hard to keep me sane and entertained while I waited for MDs to tear apart my slides. Nanus sum gigantium humeris insidens; ergo si quid viderem, pleraque eorum est culpa.
